Admission 2026 — Record 4,440 Students Enrolled at IKBFU

ПThe admissions campaign is one of the most telling moments in the university calendar. It reveals how the wider world — applicants and their families — views the institution: whether they trust its education, believe in its future, and see it as a place where they can grow.

In 2026, IKBFU has once again shown positive growth in admissions, both in quantity and quality. The record intake of 4,440 students includes high‑achievers, winners of all‑Russian Olympiads, and young people from other Russian regions and foreign countries — all choosing Russia's westernmost university as the place to build their future.

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University has published the final admission figures for 2026:

A total of 60,099 applications were submitted — an increase of 9,037 compared to 2025 — from 14,358 applicants (+1,790).
A record 4,440 students (+140 compared to 2025) were enrolled in higher and secondary vocational education programmes, of which 2,652 were on a state‑funded basis.
39% of enrolled students came from other cities and countries.
1,379 students came from 81 regions of Russia.
Top Russian regions: Moscow and the Moscow Region, Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Krai, Irkutsk, Vologda, and Arkhangelsk Regions.
351 international students came from 23 countries — with the top countries being India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Belarus, and Ecuador.
Average competition rates: 18 applicants per place in basic higher education, 7 per place in specialised higher education (Master's and PhD programmes), 6 per place in residency programmes, and 21 per place in secondary vocational education.
Top 5 most popular fields (by number of applications): Information Security, Medical Sciences, Management, Economics, and Pedagogical Education.
Highest competition was recorded for: "Advertising and Public Relations" — 56 applicants per place; "Business Informatics" — 42; "Management" — 40; "Economics" — 39; and "International Relations" — 26.
Average Unified State Exam score of state‑funded enrollees: 79.57 — an increase of 4.2 compared to 2025.
30 first‑year students enrolled under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.
310 people enrolled under targeted training agreements.
234 people enrolled under special and separate quotas.
24 people enrolled without entrance tests — winners and prize‑winners of the All‑Russian School Olympiads.
