On November 27, Andrey Teslya, Senior Research Fellow of the IKBFU Research Center for Russian Thought, gave a lecture to the participants of the International Philosophy Olympiad. The lecture focused on the concept of historical boundaries, their definition, content, and the practice of writing and interpreting history.
This is an interesting issue from the point of variability and contingency of the shifting of concepts. Do we exist within history? To what extent? What kind of history are we part of? Who is regarded as the subject of history? |
According to Andrey Teslya, the lecture on the boundaries of history serves as an effective introduction to philosophical thinking from a historical perspective.
It is important for young philosophers to distinguish their presence in time from their presence in history. Clearly, these are not identical notions. |
The final stage of the International Philosophy Olympiad for Students is taking place from November 26 to 29 at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. The event features lectures by prominent philosophy researchers from Russia and Belarus, including Nina Dmitrieva, Alexey Kozyrev, Tatiana Rumyantseva, Roman Svetlov, Vadim Vasiliev, and Andrey Teslya.
