Head of the Biomedical Applications Laboratory SEC “Smart Materials and Biomedical Applications” of IKBFU Ekaterina Levada participated in the panel discussion “Bioprinting of organs and tissues: cooperation of science and business” at the key scientific event of the year — Congress of young scientists-2025. The event took place at “Sirius” in Sochi.
The discussion, moderated by the director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of MISIS University Fedor Senatov, brought together leading industry experts: representatives of innovative companies (“3D Bioprinting Solutions”, “Imtech”), scientists from MSU of M. V. Lomonosov, Perm National Research Polytechnic University and representative of the scientific center of expertise of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The discussion focused on the technological path of bioprinting: from the creation of consumables to the introduction into clinical practice.
Ekaterina Levada presented to colleagues the advanced developments of IKBFU in the field of creation of bioink. The study on the use of different types of collagen (from pigs, cattle, fishes and even jellyfishes) was of particular interest. This approach offers new opportunities for personalization and increased efficiency of bioprinting processes.
| The topic provoked a lively response from the participants of the congress. The session ended, but the discussion did not. This is the best assessment: when your scientific work immediately everybody want to “touch” and think how to implement it. We clearly hit the mark and opened new horizons for cooperation, |
| Ekaterina Levada shared the impressions. |
