Consulate General Delegation of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg Visited IKBFU

Consulate General Delegation of the Republic of Korea in St Petersburg made a working visit in Kaliningrad on 1 December 2022. Kim Tae-Chan and Cho Seung-Hui, vice-consuls, visited Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.

During the discussion, the parties discussed academic cooperation between Kant Baltic Federal University and higher education institutions in South Korea.

Let me express the gratitude to Consulate General Delegation of the Republic of Korea for the visit. That is a sign of friendship, mutual respect, and acceptance of both countries’ cultures. The primary beneficiary of IKBFU are students. Nothing concerns us more than well-being, joy, and effective education of the next generation. We have high hopes for the students who will contribute to strengthening ties between our countries.

In the meeting, questions regarding the new Oriental Studies program were raised.

A special feature of this programme is the training of intercultural communication specialists who will become mediators between two countries. The educational track focuses on the Korean language teaching methodology, selected elements of linguopoetics, and the development of a second linguistic personality in the students, with methodological support from leading Russian researchers in Oriental languages.

A special feature of this programme is the training of intercultural communication specialists who will become mediators between two countries. The educational track focuses on the Korean language teaching methodology, selected elements of linguopoetics, and the development of a second linguistic personality in the students, with methodological support from leading Russian researchers in Oriental languages.

It is essential to say that the university has become a platform for the dialogue between the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kaliningrad.

We are open to mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Korea, subject to the indivisibility of security, including the fields of education and science and culture. Discussions on collaboration could be even more productive if only higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea were there as well. Therefore, on your next visit to Kaliningrad, be sure to take their representatives with you. Especially because IKBFU is the main venue for the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant in 2024.

We are open to mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Korea, subject to the indivisibility of security, including the fields of education and science and culture. Discussions on collaboration could be even more productive if only higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea were there as well. Therefore, on your next visit to Kaliningrad, be sure to take their representatives with you. Especially because IKBFU is the main venue for the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant in 2024.
