Thanks to the activities of the Gansu Province UNESCO Association, every year hundreds of students have the opportunity to study at major universities around the world as part of an international student exchange program. The Association is a member of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations and the China Network of International Exchange Organizations. The Association organizes and conducts international conferences, seminars, trainings and public events in the field of academic exchange, education, science and culture.
The meeting was attended by Pan Tengfei, Vice President of the Gansu Province UNESCO Association and Vladislav Dzun, head of the CIS countries of the Gansu Province UNESCO Association. BFU was represented by Associate Professor Olga Kim, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and International Education, Associate Professor Irina Filchenkova, Vice-Rector for Education, Associate Professor and Daria Gerber, Director of the International Office.
It is worth noting that Kant Baltic Federal University is the main partner of the Gansu Province UNESCO Association in the Russian Federation, and the organizations have a long and successful history of cooperation.
The issues discussed included organization of academic and extracurricular activities for Chinese students of Immanuel Kant Federal University, issues related to enrollment of applicants from China, as well as prospects of launching new joint educational programs between BFU and leading higher educational institutions of the People's Republic of China.
As a reminder, more than a hundred students from the People's Republic of China are currently studying at Immanuel Kant Federal University. The most popular fields of study for Chinese students are "Philology" and "Linguistics," and in particular the profile "Russian as a foreign language.
