The IKBFU concluded the program of the Russian language and culture vacation school for students from Germany. The final days of the visit were dedicated to exploring the scientific and cultural infrastructure of the university and the region.
The program participants visited the laboratories of the Higher School of Living Systems, where they learned about modern research in the fields of biology and chemistry. The guests were particularly impressed by the tour of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University's Cultural and Educational Center. The students saw the legendary Wallenrod Book Collection and rare editions from the university library's rare book collection. As a memento of their visit, they were presented with author's postcards featuring illustrations of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales in German.
The program also included a visit to the Kaliningrad branch of the Tretyakov Gallery and a trip to the Baltic coast, allowing the guests to gain a deeper understanding of the history and nature of Russia's westernmost region.
The visit concluded with the German guests' participation in the celebration of the East New Year at the Svetlogorsk branch of the World Ocean Museum. The International Office and foreign students of the IKBFU annually participate in this event, bringing together representatives of different cultures.
The summer school was not only an intensive Russian language course, but also a platform for lively intercultural dialogue. The visit confirmed the high interest of European youth in Russian education and culture and opened up new opportunities for further collaboration.
