On October 23, delegation from the B. N. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU, Kyrgyz Republic), headed by Rector Sergey Volkov, visited Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU). The main topic of discussion was the construction of the Kantiana campus within the framework of the national project Youth and Children. In the near future, KRSU is also planning the construction of a new university campus.
Olga Usmanova, Vice-Rector for Capital Construction and Administrative Affairs at IKBFU, guide a tour at the construction site and told colleagues how the Kantiana concept was born, what significance this intellectual space holds for the university and the region, and what challenges the team faced during the implementation of the project.
| We are delighted to share the story of our campus with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and to show them our grand construction project live. The tour left a strong impression on our guests. Kantiana is truly a city within a city — a unique space for living, working, studying, research, creativity, and sports. Our project stands apart from others. While most campuses in the country have chosen the high-tech style with an abundance of glass and concrete, Kantiana reflects the distinctive atmosphere and history of Russia’s westernmost region. When designing the project, it was essential to preserve the architectural diversity of various eras and styles, to create a low-rise, cozy complex with clearly defined boundaries ensuring comfort for the students who will live here, |

| As we prepare for the construction of our new campus, we are eager to learn from the experience of our academic partners. IKBFU has become one of the first universities we are studying. We share not only similar land areas but also common courses we plan to develop within the new campus — medicine, engineering, and the social and humanitarian fields. The construction we’ve seen here is impressive. It’s clear that high-quality materials are being used and that the aesthetic concept has been carefully preserved, |
