Master's student Vera Ni spent a semester at the Qiqihar University as a part of the mutual student exchange programme.
Over four months, the physicist worked with a polylactic composite containing carbon-based nanomaterials. The composite exhibits electroconductive properties, as well as increased strength and elasticity compared to conventional polymers; the material may be used in tissue engineering and the development of medical devices.
At the same time, Lian Tianhu, a Qiqihar University student, completed an internship at IKBFU. Under the guidance of Kurban Magomedov, a scientist of the Smart Materials and Biomedical Applications Research Centre, he studied water purification processes using nanosorbents, mastered experimental methods of analytical chemistry, computer data analysis, and database creation.
Qiqihar University student Lian Tianhu |
My experience equipped me with invaluable technical skills, particularly in database development and outcome prediction. These newfound capabilities open exciting avenues for my research back in China. The collaborative atmosphere at the Smart Materials and Biomedical Applications Centre was truly inspiring. Upon my return home, I plan to complete my thesis and apply the computer data analysis skills I have learnt at the IKBFU in my own experiments |
