Members of the IKBFU Astronomical Society produced a number of pictures and animations illustrating various forms of solar activity during the recent solar storms. This level of activity is expected, as the 11-year solar cycle is approaching its maximum.
The animation, produced by combining a large number of frames, is highly sped up — an hour’s worth of footage is packed into a few seconds. In order to obtain such a clear animation, it was necessary to collect as many as 175 thousand photos, totalling more than half a terabyte! |

Each “loop” could easily encompass our entire planet, and the AR3664 region is dozens of times larger than the Earth’s surface. The activity in this region caused the so-called May 2024 solar storms.
