The International Youth Festival took place from 11 to 16 September, bringing together 10,000 participants from 191 countries. The 2026 International Youth Festival was the biggest youth event of the year — for the first time, there were more applications from abroad than from Russian participants. Guests included representatives from Italy, Canada, the USA, India, China, Brazil, and dozens of other countries..
Ekaterina Shilova, Deputy Head of the Admissions Department, took part as an expert, speaking at the panel discussion "Education in Russia: From First Choice to the Profession of the Future" on 13 September.
The panel discussion addressed the adaptation of international students in Russia, the specific features of teaching international students at Russian universities, and the measures that Russian universities are taking to ensure the most comfortable stay.
Sakshi Shyam Chamat, a fourth-year student of General Medicine at IKBFU, also took part in the discussion.

| It is truly a great honour for us to represent the university at such a large-scale event. The discussion was very fruitful; it was extremely interesting to hear from the heads of some of the country's leading universities about how they work with international applicants and students. We are grateful to the 'National Priorities' Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation and the Russian Society 'Znanie' for organising this panel discussion as part of the International Youth Festival, which has become a magnet for a huge number of participants from all corners of the world. The festival served as a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience not only for students, but also for us, representatives of higher education institutions — and that is wonderful. |
