The 2026 Interfax National University Ranking places Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University 28th among 395 Russian higher education institutions. Having held the same position in 2025, the university maintains its status as one of the country's leading educational centres.
The standout achievement of the year was a dramatic rise in the 'Research' category, where the university climbed from 63rd–64th place in 2025 to 37th in 2026. The 'Innovation/Entrepreneurship' ranking also saw substantial improvement, moving from 120th–122nd to 87th place. These results are a clear sign of the university's growing research strength and its ability to commercialise scientific work — a trajectory powered by Priority 2030.
| Maxim Demin, IKBFU Rector: |
| Our rise in the 'Research' category is a milestone — it is central to our identity as a university. These results confirm we are on the right path. And with collaboration (19th) and social environment (22nd) remaining strong, our commitment to partnership and social responsibility is clearly paying off. Working alongside a growing community of industry partners, we are building a future that goes beyond infrastructure — one that offers students better programmes and real career prospects. |
