Anna Budarina, Head of the Institute of Education and The Humanities at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, was a keynote speaker at the annual international conference on language education — the SAALT Conference 2026.
The conference was organised by the South African Association for Language Teaching (SAALT) in collaboration with Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley, South Africa. Founded in 1964, SAALT is a leading professional non‑profit organisation in South Africa that brings together researchers, teachers, and practitioners in the fields of multilingualism, language education, and the implementation of modern foreign language teaching methods. The association is also part of global networks — including the International Federation of Language Teachers' Associations (FIPLV) under UNESCO.

| At the conference, I delivered an online presentation on the psycholinguistic aspects of foreign language learning and the development of secondary language identity. I would like to thank the conference organisers and my colleagues from Sol Plaatje University and the University of Pretoria for the opportunity to speak as a keynote at such a significant international event — and to share our experience of implementing modern foreign language teaching methods in the Russian Federation. We look forward to further collaboration and would be delighted to welcome our colleagues to our International Congress next year. |
