IKBFU has been Included in the Membership of Russian-Chinese Association of Universities of Tourism and Hospitality

On December 10-12, within the framework of the Petersburg international tourist forum “Travel Hub. Come. Winter” was held creative session in the Nevsky Cityhall (“Nevskaya Ratusha”). The event was organized by the Association for the Promotion of Russian-Chinese Tourism, the Saint Petersburg State Economic University and the Russian-Chinese Association of Universities of Tourism and Hospitality.  

The creative session was aimed at developing the scientific and practical potential of the tourist project “Amber way of Russia”from the Baltic sea to the Caspian sea, development and expansion of a creative platform for professional communication of representatives of science, education and tourism business in order to find new forms, methods and approaches in the formation of promising tourist routes of the future. 

IKBFU presented by the Director of the Higher School of Spatial Development and Hospitality Lyudmila Semenova. In her report, the expert introduced participants to the main trends and role of amber in tourist product of Kaliningrad region.  

The project “Amber Way of Russia”, which enjoys the support of many interested parties, is intended to become an impulse for the formation of new routes, a basis for the development of cooperation. This was also noted the speech of Vladimir Sharov, President of the Associations of Domestic and Inbound Tourism. He stressed that “Amber way of Russia” was included in the list of routes constituting the new “Red route” recommended for Chinese tourists.

It should be noted that at the creative session Lyudmila Semenova was handed over the certificate of inclusion of IKBFU to members of the Russian-Chinese Association of Universities of Tourism and Hospitality.

The project “Amber Route of Russia” is a large-scale tourist-historical initiative based on the ancient trade route of amber from the Baltic to the South and East, which covers many regions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Astrakhan, and represents a complex of routes through Staraya Ladoga, Novgorod, Moscow, Kazan, Derbent and Crimea. The project includes the creation of information boards, reconstruction of historical sites and promotion of cultural heritage related to amber, its extraction and trade. Innovative tourist route “Amber way of Russia” was enabled based on the results of St. Petersburg International Economic Tour 2025 to the top-12 routes of the famous “Red route”.
