In November, representatives of the IKBFU hosted a series of working meetings in China development oriented academic mobility and creating joint educational programs in the field of physical culture and sport. The visit comprised talks with a long-standing partner — the Ocean University of China and a new strategic partner — the Qingdao University.
IKBFU students Anastasia Yakushin and Ekaterina Gusev are currently undergoing a semester internship at the Oceanic University of China, where there is already an active student exchange. In turn, student Wang Zhongyan is interning in Kaliningrad on the master’s program. The admission of three OUC students to the IKBFU master’s program “Modern Trends in Sport Education” this year was a clear evidence of interest in the educational products of IKBFU.
Representatives of the Baltic Federal University held a meeting with Chinese students, where they explained in details about the educational opportunities of the university, including basic and additional programs, as well as vacation school projects.
The central event of the visit was a visit to a new partner — the University of Qingdao, where a co-operation agreement was signed. During the negotiations, the parties identified specific vectors of collaboration. The most ambitious initiative was to study the possibility of launching a joint master’s program on physical culture and sport in the format “1+1”.
To promote IKBFU and sports programs at the University of Qingdao, two meetings with students were successfully held, which received a lively response.
An important scientific and educational component of the session were lectures by Elena Shirshova, Head of Educational Programs of the Higher School of Physical Culture and Sports IKBFU. She gave a lecture at both Chinese universities on a relevantl topic: "Structure and content of sports training (basic theory of sports)". The performances aroused professional interest among Chinese colleagues and students.
| This visit confirmed the high interest of Chinese students and universities in cooperation with the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. We are not only strengthening existing ties, but also opening new pages of partnership. The signed agreement with Qingdao University and the discussion of a joint master's program curriculum open up excellent prospects for training highly qualified personnel in the field of sports in an international format, |
| said Denis Voronin, Director of the Higher School of Physical Education and Sports at the IKBFU. |
