IKBFU Invites Students and Staff to "Excellent Start" Festival

On 1 September, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University invites students and staff to its traditional "Excellent Start" festival. This year, guests can look forward to a student clubs fair, a game of bingo, popular science lectures, a prize draw, a photography exhibition, and a concert.

"Excellent Start" is both a large‑scale celebration and an ideal opportunity to get to know the university — its student societies, creative studios, and sports clubs.

Venue:: the open space around the main educational buildings at 14 Alexander Nevsky Street

What's in store for first‑year students?

The event kicks off at 3:00 pm with three lectures and a student societies fair, showcasing the wide range of extracurricular activities on offer. Each student will receive a "student handbook" containing information about the university and interactive stations. Students can collect stickers for taking part in activities, which can be exchanged for branded merchandise at a special shop. A "Historical Retrospective" photo exhibition — featuring archive photographs of the university, students, and lecturers, will open in the lobby of the administration building.

The official part of the celebrations will begin at 5:00 pm. To mark the start of the new academic year, first‑year students will be greeted by Maxim Demin, Rector of IKBFU; Alexei Besprozvannykh, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region; and the directors of the various institutes.

A cover band performs at 6:00 pm, followed by a DJ disco at 7:00 pm.
