This year, IKBFU joined the impressive list of organizers and became the venue for the final stage. Twenty pupils from grades 7-11 in Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad Region participated in the final test. The students had to demonstrate a deep knowledge of foreign languages (English, German, Spanish, and Italian) and a high level of intercultural competence, as well as a creative approach and analytical abilities in solving complex linguistic tasks. The Olympiad tasks were designed to suit the students' level of education and included both traditional components, such as a test section, listening, speaking, writing and creative tasks.| Elizaveta Shevchenko, Director of the Higher School of Linguistics: |
| As a specialist and lecturer of foreign languages, I am incredibly pleased to see such an interest among modern pupils in the narrowly focused Olympiad in linguistics. Moreover, the students not only have an advanced level of English, which is not surprising in today's world, but also demonstrate a high level of knowledge in other languages. Most of the participants received almost the maximum score for the Qualifying Tournaments and easily completed the challenging tasks in the final. I sincerely wish the young linguists success and further professional growth! |
| Irina Tomashevskaya, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Linguistics: |
| What brings special joy and professional satisfaction is that the participants of the Olympiad are competing in knowledge of not only English, which has become universal today. We see a keen interest and excellent preparation among the students who have chosen German and Italian. Additionally, the growing popularity of the Eastern languages is impressive, as the students successfully complete challenging tasks in Chinese and Japanese. This multilingualism and desire to explore different cultural traditions deserve our utmost respect. |
