A total of 1,183 universities, including 48 from Russia, were included in the world's top environmental ranking. In one year, the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University rose by 15 positions in the overall ranking, improving its position by 350 points. The University took 129th place in the overall ranking and 3rd place among Russian universities.
The UI GreenMetric is the first ranking that evaluates sustainability efforts among universities. The ranking takes into account setting and infrastructure, energy efficiency and climate change, waste treatment, water management, transport policy implementation, and the level of research and education on the topic of sustainability.
