IKBFU Ranked 129th in the UI GreenMetric-2023

A total of 1,183 universities, including 48 from Russia, were included in the world's top environmental ranking. In one year, the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University rose by 15 positions in the overall ranking, improving its position by 350 points. The University took 129th place in the overall ranking and 3rd place among Russian universities.

The UI GreenMetric is the first ranking that evaluates sustainability efforts among universities. The ranking takes into account setting and infrastructure, energy efficiency and climate change, waste treatment, water management, transport policy implementation, and the level of research and education on the topic of sustainability.

Environmental concerns such as environmental protection, responsible consumption, energy and resource-efficient technologies are particularly relevant in the connection with the upcoming campus. This includes not only the design and construction of the facility but also its ongoing use. The «Kantiana» project is fully committed to ESG principles, encompassing not only environmental sustainability but also social harmony, community development, and inclusivity. The aim is to create a welcoming and accessible environment for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
