On the 9th of March, Times Higher Education, a British ranking agency has published the results of the research. There were more than 600 universities observed with the IKBFU being ranked “501+”.
The rankings use the same 13 performance indicators as THE World University Rankings to judge institutions on their teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. However, they have different weightings to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies. Those weightings are Teaching (30%), Research (30%), Citations (20%), International Outlook, and Industry Income (10%). You may learn more about the methodology of the ranking here.
Anet Grigoryan, Head of the IKBFU Analytical Center:
“The ranking observes 606 universities with 48 Russian among them. And a positive dynamics among Russian Higher Education Institution has been noticed, as there are 9 more universities included in the list this year. This is surely a good trend demonstrating the international recognition of Russian universities”.
According to prof. Alexander Fedorov, Rector of the IKBFU, the staff works hard to improve both Science and Education at the university:
“The fact that the university was ranked by THE Emerging Economies University Rankings shows that the IKBFU works effectively in terms of science and education and that the university may rightfully be considered among the top Russian universities. One of the main goals of the IKBFU is to ensure the stable and robust growth of the university’s competitiveness. We manage to achieve it via changes in our recruitment policy and an increase in the number of international partners. We consider this strategy to be successful as we have stable growth in the numbers of international students, even in the pandemic times”.
