The IKBFU Online Russian Language Intensive Course concluded on 14 October. The number of participants almost doubled compared to last year's event and amounted to 4 thousand people. The course was designed for three levels of language proficiency (A1, A2, B1-B2) and focused on creating a free communicative environment.
The course brought together participants of different ages and backgrounds. The youngest participants were students from Mongolia, Mexico, Peru and India aged 8-9, while the oldest was a 78-year-old professor at the Central University of Venezuela.
The project involved participants from almost 100 countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Central and South-East Asia. Most students were based in India, China, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Kyrgyzstan.
Tatyana Tsvigun, Advisor to the Rectorate for Russian Language and Development of Humanitarian Education: |
The promotion of the Russian language is one of IKBFU's most important strategic projects. This year's online course offered a wide range of topics — Russian fairy tales, artificial intelligence, politeness, the latest scientific developments, youth slang, emotional intelligence, cinema, art, music and many others. Many of the participants were taking part for the second time, and some were familiar with the University's other Russian language educational initiatives. |
Daria Gerber, Director of IKBFU International Office: |
Our university is actively involved in international cooperation, with students from over 50 countries currently enrolled. The Online Russian Language Intensive Course aims to promote Russian culture and language to both professionals and beginners. The fact that this year's participants were based in almost 100 countries is simply amazing! |
