Clarivate, the owner of the Web of Science database, has published its annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR) for 2026. The IKBFU Baltic Region journal has held its position for several years running and remains in the second quartile (Q2) in the AREA STUDIES category.
Since 2024, Web of Science has also been calculating Impact Factors for journals in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) collection. As a result, Baltic Region not only continues to be indexed in the authoritative Web of Science database but also demonstrates consistent performance under the updated, more transparent, and comprehensive scientometric evaluation system introduced in JCR 2026.
The journal's success — as team members have previously noted — reflects the efforts of a large editorial board, the contributions of its authors, and the support of the university. Notably, Baltic Region is the only IKBFU publication to be included in the highly authoritative Web of Science index.
