Startup Studio Creates Cooling Textiles

The IKBFU Startup Studio has launched “TexHol”, a company dedicated to the development of composite fibres and textiles with heat-absorbing properties. The product will be used in medicine, high-performance sports, and in the production of workwear.

Conventional solutions achieve thermoregulation only under specific conditions, typically activating at a set temperature and lasting for a finite duration. Our approach provides prolonged passive thermoregulation and enhanced performance characteristics for textile materials.

The startup team leveraged two support measures from the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform to bring their project to life. They secured the Student Startup grant, and, due to high interest from the textile industry, received additional backing from the IKBFU Startup Studio.

Extensive collaboration with the textile industry informed the development of a product that meets market needs. With the grant and Startup Studio’s support, the development and commercialisation stages of passive thermoregulation textiles are set to proceed seamlessly and swiftly. Following the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) stage, we plan to apply for a patent and seek further support from the Innovation Promotion Fund. We are confident that our product will attract interest from both science and business.
