IKBFU Strengthened Position in the New Edition of the WUR 2026 Rankings

IKBFU has maintained its standing in the latest edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR). The university is ranked 1201–1500 globally and 21st among Russian higher education institutions. A total of 2,191 universities from 115 countries, including 80 universities from Russia, take part in ranking.

The ranking is based on a comprehensive methodology that evaluates universities across five key areas:

1. Teaching — 29.5% of the overall score: evaluation of academic reputation,  student-teacher ratio, proportion of postgraduate students among the total student and employees, the university’s annual income.

2. Research Environment — 29% of the overall score: assessment of the volume and quality of research, research income, and the university’s research reputation.

3. Research Quality — 30% of the overall score: measurement of dissemination of new knowledge and innovation, citation impact of scientific publications, and the influence of research on the academic community.

4. Knowledge Transfer — 4% of the overall score: patent activity, commercialization of scientific developments, and collaboration with industry partners.

5. International Outlook — 7.5% of the overall score: proportion of international staff and students, and the extent of international research collaboration.

Over the past year IKBFU has demonstrated progress by increasing its overall ranking score and improving it’s position in the area of industry collaboration. This is especially significant in light of the construction of the new campus under the national project “Youth and Children”, where the role of partner organizations in creating an innovative scientific and educational environment will continue to grow.We are seeing growth in the indicators related to teaching and the research environment.
