Throughout July, nine students from Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University attended a Chinese language summer school hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology — one of China's leading technical universities.
The trip marked a natural step in the development of the long‑standing partnership between the two universities, which has been successfully ongoing since 2015. HIT is a long‑standing and reliable partner of IKBFU. The summer school — organised by the Chinese side — brought together several hundred participants from around the world, making it a unique international platform for language learning and intercultural communication.
The programme was packed: mornings were dedicated to intensive Chinese language classes and cultural studies, while afternoons featured daily excursions, masterclasses, and activities designed to immerse participants in the atmosphere of China. Students paid particular attention to exploring Harbin — a city with unique architecture blending European and Asian traditions with a unique historical heritage and distinctive character.
The partnership with Harbin Institute of Technology opens up broader prospects for IKBFU students than just language placements. HIT offers a wide range of specialist programmes — from engineering and technical disciplines to natural sciences. For example, students can attend summer schools in robotics, artificial intelligence, civil engineering, and information technology.
