Industrial Partners, International Recognition, Networking: IKBFU Gains Ground in the Forbes University Rankings

The results of the annual ranking of the best universities in Russia by Forbes have been published. Based on the results of the ranking, the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University has risen 38 positions and is now ranked 49th out of 100 Russian universities.

Ranking was based on data from the 2025 monitoring of higher education institutions conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, as well as the results of a survey of Russia's top employers and information from open sources. Ranking methodology evaluates five parameters based on a 100-point scale: employer demand, international recognition, networking quality, academic environment, and the Forbes factor.

The IKBFU received the highest score in the networking metric, which assesses the overall level of students enrolled in the university and the opportunity to establish useful connections during their studies.

This year, the IKBFU has shown excellent progress in terms of employer reputation and international recognition in the Forbes ranking. I believe the university's participation in federal programs , which are aimed not only at developing science and education but also at creating an environment where employers and industry partners become full-fledged co-authors of educational programs and research projects, has been a key factor in it’s growth. The university's engagement in the first wave of improvements to higher education in Russia and the construction of the Kantiana campus as part of the national project "Youth and Children" have allowed it to attract to the partnership key market players such as Rosatom State Corporation, Bitrix24, Alfa-Bank, Fakel Design Bureau, AVTOTOR, and others. The university is offering it’s applicants fundamentally new educational programs, both in terms of the content of the disciplines and the format of the presentation of the material. The emphasis is on strengthening the fundamental part, practical-oriented learning, and interdisciplinary approach. All of this would not have been possible without the active involvement of employers,
