International Kant Congress "The World Concept of Philosophy" Named Event of the Year

On February 15, the winners of the Eurasian Philosophy Prize 2025 were announced in Moscow. The award honoured scientific authors and journalists, translators, organisers of topical projects and students. The prize was presented for the second time, this year in ten nominations. The winners were chosen by the Council comprising of leading philosophers from 20 universities in ten cities of Russia and neighbouring countries.

The special "Event of the Year" award was given to IKBFU for organising a world-class event — the International Kant Congress "The World Concept of Philosophy".

The Congress in honour of Immanuel Kant's 300th anniversary was held from 22 to 25 April 2024. More than 850 people applied for participation in the forum and more than 500 arrived. The participants represented Russia and 22 other countries: Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Colombia, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, USA, Uzbekistan, and others.

The award was presented to Nina Dmitrieva, Director of the Academia Kantiana at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. In her speech, she highlighted the significance of the recognition, emphasizing the Congress’s role not only in honoring Kant’s legacy but also in strengthening the Russian philosophical community’s engagement with his work.

In this sense, we continue the work of many generations of Russian philosophers — and we have a great deal more to do in this respect. Kant's philosophy has become a fact of Russian intellectual culture, and we are very happy that Kantian studies are supported at the highest level.
