Updated indicators of the global SCImago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) for 2025, based on data from the Scopus database, have been published. All three international scientific journals of the IKBFU — the Kant Collection, The Word.Ru: The Baltic Accent and the Baltic Region — have confirmed their place in the first quartile (Q1) by profile categories. This means that the university's publications continue to be among the top 25% of the best journals in the world in terms of scientific influence (SJR).
At the end of the year, The Word.Ru: The Baltic Accent demonstrated the highest SJR (0.494) among IKBFU journals in 2025. For the third year in a row, the journal has held high positions in the first quartile in the subjects of “Literature and Literary Theory”, and it has also been included in Q1 in the field of Linguistics from this year.
The Baltic Region Magazine also showed a high SJR of 0.480 at the end of the year, confirming it’s authority in interdisciplinary research. For seven years, the publication has maintained it’s position in the first quartile (Q1) in the categories of "History" and "Cultural Studies", and for the second year in a row it has been included in the second quartile (Q2) in the field of geography, planning and development.
The Kant Collection, with an SJR of 0.377, also retained it’s position in the first quartile (Q1) in the Philosophy subject area, which confirms the growing interest of the world academic community in the legacy of Immanuel Kant and the research of Russian philosophers.
| Maintaining positions in the first quartile of Scopus for all three of our journals is not just about maintaining status, but proving the sustainability and high quality of scientific publications. Despite the growing competition in the global academic environment, all three of our international publications consistently rank in the top 25% of the most influential publications in the world. And, of course, it would have been impossible to achieve such a result without system support. The development of journals, their translation, and compliance with relevant international standards are largely supported by the funds of the Priority 2030 program. These resources allow us to keep up the pace and continue to improve the quality of our journals, |
