Indian and Brazilian students at IKBFU have successfully completed the English-language course “Fundamentals of Laboratory Practice in Molecular Biology” at the Center for Immunology and Cellular Biotechnology. The course combined theoretical lectures on molecular biology with hands-on training in laboratory techniques, including work with nucleic acids, proteins, and basic biostatistics.
Over the six-month course (December to May), students gained practical experience in a research laboratory setting, learning core experimental methods and key methods of molecular analysis.
Maria Bograya, course lecturer: |
At the Center, we work on interdisciplinary projects focused on the molecular pathophysiology of socially significant diseases. Collaboration with clinicians is essential. That’s why I named the course “Scientist vs. Doctor: A Short Course in Successful Cooperation”. I aimed to help medical students understand the logic behind scientific experiments. The students were curious, engaged, and asked thoughtful questions—it was a pleasure to teach them. I’m confident the course sparked their interest in molecular biology and laid the groundwork for future collaboration between clinicians and biomedical researchers. |
