The December visit of IKBFU members to Serbia has combined two tasks — strengthening partnerships with the university community and acquaintance of seniors with learning opportunities in Kaliningrad. Director of the International Office Daria Gerber and Head of Internationalization and International Partnership Ksenia Skryabina went to Kragujevac and Belgrade with working meetings and presentations. Visits were facilitated by the Russian House in Belgrade.
The first univesity of the visit to the Republic of Serbia was the University of Kragujevac. During the meeting, representatives of universities discussed possible formats of interaction and agreed to start preparing a cooperation agreement. IKBFU employees outlined the university’s scientific and educational activities in the field of law, biology and medicine, which aroused interest among representatives of the host country.
On the same day, the delegation met with seniors of the Second Gymnasium of Kragujevac. The children learned about educational areas, infrastructure and student life at IKBFU. Employees of the Russian House in Belgrade Yulia Hakimova and Georgy Engelgardt introduced the children to the possibilities of admission to Russian universities according to the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The programme of the visit continued in Belgrade, where the delegation focused on humanitarian areas and development cooperation in the field of Russian studies. Representatives of IKBFU spoke at the Philological Gymnasium in Belgrade to students studying Russian.
| Ksenia Skryabina, Head of Internationalization and International Partnership: |
| For us, it was a very pleasant surprise to learn how well the guys know the Russian language. The Gymnasium offers it’s students a large number of foreign languages to study — English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean and even Latin and Ancient Greek. That is why I am doubly glad that so many students have chosen to study Russian. |
As part of the visit to Belgrade, the round table was held at the Chair of Slavistic Studies of the University of Belgrade. The participants shared their experience in implementing projects to promote the Russian language and discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of Russian studies, academic exchanges and participation in specialized scientific events of IKBFU.
The trip to Kragujevac and Belgrade was another step in the development of IKBFU’s partnership with educational organizations in the Balkan region.
