On 15 October, the Government of the Russian Federation held a meeting on the creation of world-class campuses, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The meeting was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Construction, heads of federal subjects and rectors of universities. Governor Alexey Besprozvannykh participated in the event remotely via videoconference, along with Maxim Demin, IKBFU Acting Rector.
It was reported during the meeting that the construction of the Kantiana Neocampus is progressing ahead of schedule, with 38.6 percent completed so far, compared to the planned 32 percent. The first dormitory, accommodating nearly 900 students, is expected to be finished in 2025, with the remaining campus facilities, including the Neocampus Library, set for completion in 2026.

The construction of this facility is very important for us: the new campus will attract thousands of students, professors and researchers, which will undoubtedly give a boost to the development of the region. For our part, we will continue to work with local companies to increase their involvement in the equipment of the campus and its future life. |

This is not the first meeting of this level with the participation of Governor Alexei Besprozvannykh, dedicated to the progress of the Kantiana Neocampus. The construction is proceeding at a very fast pace, and now the university’s task is to invite scientists, industrial partners to attract motivated students. The governor sees the importance of this project for the development of the region, which makes it possible to attract significant intellectual power to the region. |
