Magnolia liliiflora hybrids are blooming: their buds have the darkest purplish-red colour among other magnolia species. The wine-purple flowers first hold upright, then open and expose an inner side of a lighter shade. Magnolia liliiflora flowers appear before the leaves, like most magnolias, in April and May. The newly blossomed buds are shaped like a wineglass, but in a few days they will open and resemble an open palm. The blooming is not as abundant as in spring, but nevertheless, you can admire individual magnolia blossoms in our magnolia alley. In the flower meadow, coneflowers, spider flowers, sunflowers, lilies and fragrant phlox are blooming. |
