Methodology, Technology and Transformation: the International Congress on Physical Culture and Sports has Started in IKBFU

On March 13, the XI International Scientific Congress "Education in the Field of Physical Education, Sports and Adaptive Physical Education: Methodology and Technologies" started at the IKBFU. The event opened with a morning jog by teachers, scientists and students dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region. A little later, a business and scientific program began it’s work at the IKBFU, attended by more than two hundred experts from 20 regions of Russia, the Republic of Belarus and China.

In connection with the transition to a new model of higher education in Russia, experts will pay special attention to the transformation of the educational process, it’s methodological foundations and modern technologies, and identify strategic directions for educational institutions in the country.

Maxim Demin, Rector of the IKBFU, greeted numerous guests at the university site:

From year to year, the congress participants discuss the most relevant topics in the field of physical education and sports. This time, it is no coincidence that we have paid special attention to the issues of methodology and technology. As you know, IKBFU is a member of the first wave of universities that have begun to transform higher education. This year we will have a one-hundred-percent transition, including in the framework of physical education and sports programs. Therefore, the decisions, strategies, and directions that will be discussed at the congress will become the basis for qualitative changes in Russian sports education.

According to Li Shimin, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at the Oceanic University of China, the congress not only unites leading scientists, but also serves as a bridge that strengthens friendship. Currently, three talented students of Kantiana are studying at the partner university under the academic exchange program. Two of them are studying a program in the field of Physical education, and the third in the field of Linguistics.

We are proud that they chose our university for an internship, and we believe that this experience will be an important stage in their professional development, as well as contribute to the further strengthening of our academic ties. I am convinced that this forum will become a platform for generating new ideas and projects. I sincerely hope for further deepening of cooperation between our faculties and universities in the scientific, educational and sports fields, which will be even more fruitful,
