From 2 to 21 September 2026, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University hosted a series of introductory events featuring its student societies. The main venue for the three‑week extracurricular marathon was the Student House complex on Nevsky Street. The event brought together over 600 participants, opening up a wide range of opportunities for self‑fulfilment, creativity, and professional development for the new students.
The educational and induction programme was organised by the Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work at IKBFU.
During the first few weeks of the academic year, around 20 key student societies and clubs opened their doors to first‑year students. The format of the meetings allowed students to speak personally with society leaders, learn about flagship projects, and apply for membership straight away.
The programme covered a wide range of student activity — from creativity and the arts to media and communications, social engagement and volunteering, environmental and tourism initiatives, and intellectual leisure and theatre.
| Arsen Kaigermazov, IKBFU Deputy Vice‑Chancellor for Youth Policy and Educational Activities: |
| Extracurricular activities at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University are not merely a form of leisure, but a fully‑fledged platform for developing non‑professional skills, leadership qualities, and project‑based thinking. More than 600 first‑year students were able to make an informed choice regarding their personal development outside the lecture theatres. Our Student House has become a vibrant hub for generating ideas, where students have found like‑minded peers and mentors. We are delighted to see such genuine engagement and are confident that the energy of the new cohort of Kantian students will translate into outstanding achievements at the national level. Welcome to the large and friendly IKBFU team! |
The series of introductory events has now concluded, but IKBFU's student societies continue to accept applications and remain open to new members throughout the academic year.
