On October 13, the first meeting of the new Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS) of the Kaliningrad region was held at the Ministry of Youth Policy. During the ceremonial part of the session, Minister of Youth Policy Anna Musevich thanked the active members of the previous council, presented them with letters of appreciation, and highlighted the most notable events, including the Open Astronomy Night, organized in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of IKBFU.
The meeting summarized the achievements of the previous council. Valeria Kolesnikova, chairman of the CYSS and Junior Researcher at the Research and Education Center Smart Materials and Biomedical Applications, shared that over the past three years, more than 30 scientific events had been held, engaging over 3,000 young people across the region.
| The Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Kaliningrad region has done important and challenging work to promote scientific activity in the region. Our goal was to introduce young people to the world of science and show that being a scientist is both exciting and promising — science is our future. With the support of the Ministry of Youth Policy, we’ve been able to organize events that have become regional traditions, such as the annual educational retreat Simple Science, competition for the best research projects among school and university students, and the ScienceMic scientific and practical conference. Year after year, these activities demonstrate the genuine interest of young people in science and provide a platform for self-realization. As part of the new board, we will continue to join forces to promote scientific initiatives, as well as work to create conditions in which young scientists can grow and implement their ideas, |
