The IKBFU journals “Baltic Region” and “Kant's Collection” are included in the authoritative academic index of the People's Republic of China – CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure).
CNKI is a joint information project of Tsinghua University (Beijing) and Tsinghua Tongfang Holding, which started in 1996. CNKI considers “the total digitization of China's knowledge resources, the creation of a platform for the global distribution of value-added services” as its most important task, and positions itself as “the main knowledge base of the PRC”. In addition, CNKI conducts large-scale work on the formation of collections of foreign scientific publications in the public domain.
CNKI is the largest electronic academic resource database in China, hosting 95% of mainland Chinese scientific journals, 40% of which are exclusively hosted. In addition, CNKI has an extensive user network of over 1,600 institutional clients.
CNKI is actively expanding outside of China. Currently, CNKI has more than 1,200 foreign users – representatives of scientific organizations from more than 50 countries of the world. CNKI Academic Database collaborates with more than 530 international publishers, including Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, Cambridge University Press, and aggregates publications from authoritative databases of scientific information.
“Due to the policy of CNKI, it is much more difficult for social and humanitarian journals to get into this database. Only those foreign journals that meet the highest publishing standards are accepted for indexing. Therefore, we consider this not only an important achievement, but also a high assessment of the quality of our journals,” added Irina Peker, director of the IKBFU Center for Publication Activity.
As a reminder, the journals “Baltiс Region” and “Kant's Collection” are indexed in the Scopus database (the “Baltic Region” is included in the first quartile at the end of 2021), as well as in the Russian Science Citation Index database. In addition, “Slovo.ru: Baltic accent” is included in Scopus and RSCI.
