On 10 October, the final stage of the Second International Pedagogical Olympiad in Russian language began at IKBFU. Participants of the Olympiad are Russian teachers working abroad.
As part of the selection round, which took place in autumn, participants developed a video resume and a methodological paper in the field of Russian language teaching. The winners were invited to IKBFU for the in-person stage, while the runners-up were invited to participate online.
The participants come from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
On the first day of the Olympiad consisted of four contests — a methodical workshop, where the participants presented a linguo-methodical lesson plan; a professional speech contest “Linguistic Battle”; the presentation of the educational project “Russia — (the participant’s country): Dialogue Space”; as well as a conference devoted to the latest pedagogical approaches in Russian language teaching.
Tatyana Tsvigun, Advisor to the Rectorate for Russian Language and Development of Humanitarian Education: |
The International Pedagogical Olympiad in Russian language is one of the most important IKBFU events devoted to the promotion of the Russian language and education abroad. The Olympiad has now become an annual event. Among the participants are educators from Europe, Asia and even Africa. The efforts to promote the Russian language cover different target audiences and have different formats. We continue a series of large-scale educational events, including the Russian Dictant Online project; Russian Language Marathon; Online Russian Intensive and many others. These events are attended by thousands of participants from more than a hundred countries. The Olympiad is not so much a competition, but rather a meeting of like-minded people, an exchange of successful approaches and, ultimately, an expansion of the Russian language community. |
Maxim Lisogor, Acting Vice-Rector for Education: |
The promotion of the Russian language abroad is an important and complex mission. Russian philologists face the significant task of creating bridges in the international linguistic and cultural space. It was a great pleasure for us to meet the participants of the final stage of the Second International Pedagogical Olympiad in Russian language. |
Daria Gerber, Director of the International Office: |
We welcome the winners and runners-up of the first stage of the Olympiad at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. This is a significant international event: this year’s Olympiad brought together more than a hundred participants from 30 countries — all of them united by their love for the Russian language, desire to preserve Russian culture in the global space and to make new scientific discoveries. Ahead of us are three engaging days full of competition, lectures and excursions. We wish all participants success, new achievements and, of course, victory. |
