An educational and scientific laboratory of immunology and cellular technologies will be opened in the new building of the Biomed Neocampus. Here, not only immunologists and physicians, but also students — future doctors, biologists and bioengineers — will be able to solve their research tasks. The scientific center with an area of almost 300 square meters will house two educational laboratories, a laboratory room and a cultural block.
| The University has already purchased a new digital cellular imaging system with an environmental parameter monitoring module for long-term cell culture. Such an installation will significantly optimize and bring to a new level the training of cell technologists and scientific research, and will make it possible to visualize the growth and development of cell cultures under the influence of various factors, |
| Andrey Goncharov, Senior Researcher at the IKBFU Center for Immunology and Cellular Biotechnologies, told the audience. |
According to scientists, digital imaging methods (image acquisition, processing, analysis, and application) will provide more accurate data on cellular processes. One of the areas that the Center for Immunology and Cellular Biotechnology is engaged in is the creation of a trophoproliferative supplement based on donated blood components. The new development will make it possible to grow cellular products several times faster than their counterparts. The Center's team registered the know-how and received the corresponding patent.

"Cellular technologies are becoming more and more popular among students, — notes Andrey Goncharov. — The number of "cellular" subjects and time is increasing significantly and will only increase in the future. In the old building on Universitetskaya, we began to lack educational space. Therefore, we hope that the commissioning of the new space will expand our capabilities and improve the quality of student education." |
The construction readiness of the Biomed building is 70%. It is being built as part of the construction of the "Intellectual Space of the Future “Kantiana Campus" of the IKBFU in Kaliningrad. The new modern building will feature classrooms for theoretical and practical work with students, laboratories, computer labs, and streaming classrooms. Multifunctional open-type coworking spaces are planned as classrooms for coursework, graduation and scientific design. The simulation center will be the pride of the Biomed building. An entire floor of more than 900 square meters will be allocated for simulation training in the new Biomed building. In total, more than 1,500 students will be able to study in the building.
