The International Kant Congress gathered more than 700 leading scholars, including 87 foreign participants from 23 countries.
During the closing ceremony, Abdusalam Guseynov, Acting Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasised that the Congress brought Kant into the life of philosophers in a new way.
Kant is now not only just a classical philosopher; he directly participates in our intellectual activities, helps us tackle the issues we face in our professional work and the challenges our country is facing. |

I would like to thank everyone who attended — Russian scholars and foreign guests, thanks to whom this great event was held. We spent four days in conversation and in discussions. Professor Kant came to life before our eyes. His ideas proved to be relevant to the most urgent challenges of our time. We did not just pay tribute to this outstanding personality and his philosophical system, but continued it, and together contributed to what is called the metaphysical heritage. |
The “World Concept of Philosophy” International Kant Congress marked the 300th anniversary of the outstanding intellectual Immanuel Kant. The Congress was aimed at exploring the ideas and principles of the Kantian philosophical system in 19 topical areas. The complete programme for the event may be found here.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Kaliningrad Region. The Congress is hosted by the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
