Take a Look at XVIII Konigsberg Architecture in “The World of Immanuel Kant” AR Project

Augmented Reality (AR) technology allows anyone with a smartphone to take a look at the old Konigsberg buildings.

Vasilisa Yeremina, the project’s program designer:

AR is somewhat alike to the well-known Virtual Reality (VR) technology, but the name ‘’augmented” suggests that it adds virtual elements into the real world instead of allowing a person to act in the virtual environment as VR does. We have decided to use AR in showing how people lived in Immanuel Kant’s days as it provides better experience for users. There were difficulties in the project’s development, for example, in making it accessible to both Android and IOS users, while not forcing people to download specific apps.

You may take a look at Konigsberg’s old buildings by visiting the project’s website, selecting the model you wish to observe and pressing the “full-screen” button, your smartphone will do the rest. Orient the building on any horizontal surface around you and enjoy the view.
