Two buildings of the future world-class Kantiana campus of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad have been glazed.
In January 2024, significant progress was made on the glazing of two new buildings on the campus. Building No. 1, housing a general auditorium and library, and Building No. 2, featuring a tour desk and a multifunctional centre for students and faculty, both saw the completion of their exterior glasswork. Over 900 square metres of ventilated facade systems and nearly 700 square metres of stained glass structures were installed. The installation of modern, high-tech entrance doors utilising aluminium and tempered glass is currently underway in both buildings, with completion expected by the end of January 2024.
The Kantiana campus, encompassing over 109,000 square metres, is projected to be completed and operational by 2025.
The four-story building for the Institute of High Technologies was erected in December 2023. It will house the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Research, the Higher School of Engineering and Technical Services, the Centre for Mechatronics, and other facilities, accommodating approximately 1,700 students.
The Baltic Federal University campus will expand with six new educational buildings and two dormitories, offering places for 2,482 residents. These buildings are intended to house advanced laboratories focused on diverse scientific disciplines. Furthermore, a publicly accessible street featuring cafes, shops, and bank branches is scheduled for development on the University grounds.
