As part of the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University and the Partap Pedagogical College, an official delegation from the Institute of Education and Humanities visited the Indian partner organization. The university's faculty members, at the invitation of the Indian side, held a series of lectures and workshops for students and staff of the college at the IKBFU Center for Russian Pedagogy. At the initiative of the college's management, the experts from the IKBFU developed a series of lectures on the issues of contemporary Russian humanitarian knowledge in the context of expanding Russian-Indian academic ties.
Professor Ilya Tarasov, Deputy Head for Research at the Institute of Education and Humanities, presented an immersive lecture on the topic "The International Image of Russia: Structure, Perception, and Strategies." During the lecture, the students learned about the imperatives of Russian foreign policy and the principles of shaping Russia's image, and they actively participated in a discussion about the factors influencing the image of the leading BRICS countries.
Elizaveta Shevchenko, Director of the Higher School of Linguistics at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, introduced the college students to new didactic techniques for learning foreign languages through the linguistic parallels between Russian and Hindi. The students gained basic communication skills in the Russian-speaking environment. The Indian linguistics professors noted the significant correlation between the adaptive course and the college's curriculum.
Associate Professor, Irina Tomashevskaya, continuing and developing the topic of practical application of the principles of intercultural communication in the educational process, which is in demand within the framework of academic cooperation, revealed the problem of non-verbal communication in the context of internationalization of education. In particular, the analysis of culturally determined features of academic interaction between teachers and students provoked a lively response from the audience. Thus, using the example of gestures traditional for Indian society, the possibility of mistaken perception of non-verbal behavior was shown.
The series of lectures and master classes culminated in academic conference, during which Indian students and teachers had the opportunity to ask their questions to Russian specialists. The library of the Center for Russian Pedagogy at the Partap College has been replenished with a variety of educational and scientific literature.
A significant outcome of the visit was the approval of the joint work plan of the Center for Russian Pedagogy, one of the points of which is the organization of a special Russian-Indian section of the annual conference of students, postgraduates and young scientists "Days of Science" on the basis of the IKBFU. A joint initiative was also put forward to establish the Russian-Indian Association of Young Scientists.

| We have seen an increase in engagement from the Indian side in collaborating with our university since the opening of the Center for Russian Pedagogy at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Partap Pedagogical College in 2024. Indian students have a great interest in our country and in learning Russian. During the lectures and workshops, students were active and curious, open to learning new knowledge, changes, and skills. During this visit, further steps were outlined for developing cooperation, including conducting joint research in the fields of pedagogy and intercultural communication. |
As a follow-up to the visit of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University faculty members to Partap Pedagogical College, an intensive Russian language course for college students and faculty members will be launched in the near future on the basis of the IKBFU Center for Russian Pedagogy.
