The vibrant "Chinese New Year" festival was held again in Kaliningrad, organized by the Baltic Federal Immanuel Kant University and the Marine Exhibition Center. The celebration on the lunar calendar has already become a good tradition for the university and the city, and this year was no exception, giving guests a rich program and atmosphere of friendship.
The Head of the Center for Intercultural Communications of IKBFU, Maria Litvinyuk, welcomed the meeting with APAC countries. In her speech, she emphasized the special significance of this holiday for the university.
The main heroes of the evening were IKBFU students, who brilliantly speak languages and captivate the audience’s hearts with their creativity. Songs in the Chinese language and instrumental numbers were performed on the stage — an intricate play on the violin and traditional Chinese erhu — aroused particular admiration from the audience.
| Warm words to guests and organizers of the holiday was said by IKBFU Chinese language teacher Li Tintin: |
| I was genuinely touched by the fact that so many people are celebrating the Chinese New Year so far from China, in Kaliningrad. I sincerely thank the Baltic Federal University and the organizers of the festival for the opportunity to share this event with students, family and friends. 2026 — the year of the fire horse. The horse symbolizes honesty, sincerity, kindness. This year is also the crossroads of education between Russia and China. I wish our developing countries to conquer new heights, all the host families health and well-being. |
The festive atmosphere reigned not only on stage, but also in special interactive areas. On the second floor of the Maritime Exhibition Centre, workshops for visitors were organized by IKBFU students. Everyone could try their hand at the art of calligraphy and draw the first hieroglyphs, paint the bright masks of Beijing opera, create traditional Chinese lanterns and master other folk crafts.
The organizers and participants of the festival express great gratitude to all who came to share the joy of the celebration: students — for their talent and courage, partners — for the warm atmosphere, and guests — for sincere smiles and applause.
