Education & Careers Expo 2024, an international trade and development exhibition, was held on 25-28 January and attracted more than 120,000 attendees with the majority being university students and schoolchildren from Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Artur Klesov, Head of the Secretariat, and Alisa Dorofeeva, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for International Education and Youth Policy, represented IKBFU, showcasing the University's educational programmes and the existing academic exchange programmes, informed potential applicants about tuition fees and admission requirements, along with conducting a Russian culture and geography quiz.
Joining IKBFU was the Russian Language Centre (Hong Kong), supported by the Consulate General of Russia.
Olga Kim, Vice-rector for International Education and Youth Policy: |
Over the past few years, we established cooperation with many Asian universities, signing cooperation agreements with the National University of Uzbekistan, Bukhara State Medical Institute, as well as Indian and Chinese universities. Last September our university opened a representative office in the Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabayev, solidifying IKBFU's presence in the region. At the educational exhibition in Hong Kong, we showcased the advantages of our University and Kaliningrad, and introduced potential panthers and applicants to Russia and the Russian education system. |
Artur Klesov, Head of the Secretariat: |
We would like to thank the Consulate General of Russia in Hong Kong for its assistance in organising our University's participation in the international exhibition. Cooperation with Asian countries is of great importance for IKBFU, and we are happy to share the opportunities we provide with the Chinese youth, especially as Russian university graduates are highly valued in the local labour market. |
Alisa Dorofeeva, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for International Education and Youth Policy: |
The development of sustainable cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region is one of the key areas of our University's international policy development. At the educational exhibition in Hong Kong, we aimed to reveal the full benefits of Russian higher education, provide detailed responses to the future applicants’ questions, and tell them about Russia, the Russian language and culture in general. |
The Education & Careers Expo boasts a rich history since 1991. The four-day event spans 6,000 square metres and remains the largest and most popular educational event in the region.
